A standby generator will keep your home or office up and running during a power outage.  A power outage can occur for many reasons.  It can be due to weather-related damage to electrical systems, damage to power lines, faults at power stations, transformer explosions, just to name a few.  Power outages can last anywhere from a few minutes to hours or even days.  If a power outage occurs in your area, it will be difficult for you to know the duration of the outage.  Can you afford to be out of power even for a few hours?

A standby generator can keep your home and office powered.  A standby generator is installed outside your house and when the automatic transfer switches senses a power loss, it will automatically turn on the system.  The automatic power switch will also turn off the generator when power is restored.

Pacific Gold Electric, Inc has many years of experience installing generators.  We approach the installation as follows:

We will work with you to understand your needs to best determine the size and type of standby generator for you.  One of the first things that you'll need to think through is if you want a generator to power your entire home or office or just the critical electrical components.  We will discuss the options and provide you a written price estimate before we begin the work.

We will also coordinate with the city, power company, Planning and Zoning division to pull any necessary permits and get final approved inspection.

We will also coordinate with other plumbing contractors that are certified to do natural gas installation for generators.

We will buy the generator on your behalf.

We will build a concrete pad to set your generator.  We highly recommend building a concrete pad instead of utilizing the pad packaged with the generator.  Grounds tend to shift and the concrete pad will help the generator stay level and improve the generator's efficiency and longevity.

We will install the generator and the automatic transfer switch.

We will run tests to ensure your new generator is operating correctly.
